Energias 2017 - Bengaluru Power Summit

Energias 2017, Bengaluru Power Summit, a unique Environmental Awareness Programme was conducted at St. Claret School, Jalahalli on 22 November, in collaboration with Paryavaran Mitra, Schneider Electric India Foundation, ITC WOW and 4R Recycling Pvt. Ltd.

This power summit with a common agenda of Energy Conservation brought together many innovative and enterprising young minds with path breaking ideas on saving energy.

The distinguished dignitaries were Rev.Fr. Benny Mathew, Manager, St. Claret Educational Society, Rev. Fr. Joseph A, Administrator, St. Claret Educational Society, Rev. Fr. Joshi K X., Principal , St. Claret School, Principals of other Institutions of our campus, representatives of reputed companies, Teacher Representatives and Students.

 The programme commenced with an auspicious lighting of the lamp by Rev. Fr. Benny Mathew, Rev. Fr. Joshi, Mr. Arkul Shenoy, a teacher representative and a student.

The eminent guest speakers of the day were Mr. Arkul Shenoy, General Manager, Schneider Electric India Foundation, Ms. Sukhpreet Kaur, Programme Coordinator, CEE South, Paryavaran Mitra, Mr. Ramakanth, Active Member Solid Waste Management Round Table(SWMRT), Bengaluru and Mr. Dileep Kumar, Co - Founder and President, Operations 4R Recycling. They elaborated on crucial energy issues like Energy Efficiency, Role of Schools in Energy Consumption and Conservation, Domestic Waste Management and E- waste recycling.

More than 40 schools from around Bengaluru participated in this Green Move with creative and ingenious ideas on Energy Conservation. The creatively constructed working and static models were displayed and judged by a panel of judges and three of the best were awarded. The proud first prize winners were the Young Scholars Academy. Satwik Vidya Mandir and Antony Claret School bagged the second and third prizes respectively.
